The new lawn tractors, garden tractors, and zero-turns by Craftsman have some really nice features, adding what buyers wanted most.

Some of these features/styles include:

  • Capability to mow in reverse
  • All riding mowers are now red
  • Redesigned hood
  • More realistic HP rating
  • A new 48" deck size to be in between the 46" and 54" sizes
  • Keyless ignition
  • LOTS MORE!

They should offer a fab deck like Husqvarna does. I see they copied the old Troybilt forward, and reverse shifter. I wish they would put the deck lift handle on the right side. I dis-located my left shoulder years ago, and that deck is not light those assist springs dont help much either. I actually emailed them a bunch of input for features through a survey I took but it looks like they went the other way. I wouldnt buy another one anyway. Its like they are going backwards in their tech up- grades to their equipment.

I have always liked craftsman up till last year. They have now fell to the bottom of the **** pile with JD.
This mower here just looks so cheap they just don't get how people think

Build a cheap piece of **** mower and make it look tough and people will buy it and swear it's the best.

The one with the black deck looks tough. The four deck wheels is a plus

Yep the GT doesnt look to bad but the rest look really cheap, and they dont look like anything I have seen Husqvarna build. I think they should offer a fab deck option for the GT. Husqvarna builds them for sears, and Husqvarna offers a GT with a fab deck.

This is what I like to see in a tractor style mower.

Yep thats why it will be my next tractor style mower purchase. It is able to use ground engaging attachments, has a fab deck, and has a pretty fast forward ground speed for a tractor style mower. It has a electric style sleeve hitch you can add on too. I checked with a not so local Husqvarna dealer, and I can get it for $2800.

I wonder how hard would it be for thief to crack the passcode on those keyless start mowers?

Probably harder than the ones that use a key the same key every mower uses the same key slot that be turned with a flat head screw.driver or anyone with a brain cell could hot wire it personally I never saw the reasoning for those locks they are not effective at all lol

If someone is going to take your mower they are not going to start it and drive it home. It's funny people say I take the key out so no one can steal it. OMG they can just push it

Not all of them can be pushed. Remember the old 5-7 speed yard machines that had no neutral. I ran across those and they wont roll by pushing it.

Very true.
But really who is going to start a mower and drive it out of your yard.

A few months ago I was doing a yard and someone stole a shovel off my trailer but left the trimmers and blowers

Really? Sure you didn't leave it on a job or bounce off while in transport?

or just pick it up with 2 guys and put it in the back of a truck or a trailer depending on the tractor? my mtd 2 people could lift that front end onto a tailgate then muscle the back end in a bed of a pickup. while i was at work at the construction site my foreman had his work van door opened, a guy walking down the street took a box of nail gun nails instead of the $400 framing gun sitting right next to the box.

I liked to see 2 guys pick up a Cub Cadet 682 hydro w/KT17 and load it on pickup truck.
