I have a toro lawnmower with a tecumseh engine model # lv195 ea 362003c. My spark tester lights up but there is no spark on the end of the plug when I hold it on the engine block. I have tried tried 3 good plugs and no spark. Engine will not start. Would a bad coil cause this to happen?

Remove the kill wire from the coil and retest. If you still have no spark, I would be replacing the coil.

Pull the plug cap off then cut the wire as close to the terminal as possible
Poke a small screw into the end of the wire
If that throws a good spark, needs to be at least 1/4" then put a new cap on the end of the High tension lead

Tested with and without the kill wire removed and no spark from the plug. I will try a new coil.
