So, I have this Craftsman snowblower with the Tecumseh engine. I cleaned the carb and got it running. Now a have a stream of fuel coming out the tiny hole above the adjustment screw. Why? What did I do to it?

You have a float valve that not sealing. Most likely you blew the rubber seat out and lost it, or sprayed with carb cleaner and swelled it. Will need a new float needle and rubber seat.

Is the float adjusted so it sits level when turned upside down or should there be a slight downward tilt on this model?

It is adjusted with a slight downward tilt were you can slide a 11/64 drill bit between the float and the carb body at the gasket flange.

I replaced the needle and seat, no more leak.
Now the engine runs fine for about 1 minute and dies. Could the new needle be sticking in the seat?

Be sure the Float moves freely now, is set level when inverted and that the fuel is turned on if there is a valve.
