Stihl HLA 86 runs slow

I have in for repair a Stihl hla 86 long reach cordless hedge trimmer on operating first pull of the switch it runs normal for a brief moment then runs slow it has 2 batteries and does the same with either has anyone had this fault or knows were the fault lies TIA
