When in the small repair business what champion spark plugs should a shop keep on hand for repairs and over the counter sales?
What are the most common mower engines you see in your shop/area; those plugs for sure. Where will you get these plugs/ If you're buying from a jobber/supplier he may have some statistics or a recommended assortment. It's in his best interest to see you succeed.
This is where a computer inventory system comes in handy. When I was in the motorcycle biz, our system made us keep items in stock that we sold 3 of in a calendar year. To track items you didn't have, keep track of "lost sales".
Stens, Rbi and dixie dont have those stats. The thing I have to go by is the most popular sellers list that dixie put out awhile back.
What about any of these?
dj8y, cj8y, cj8, cj6y, cj7y, cj8y, cj8, , Rc12yc ,rc14yc,j8c ,dj6y, ,dj7y,
I know to keep the j19lm on hand.
I adjusted your list for the most common plugs for small engines. Maybe a couple cj14, h10c, qc12yc. If I remember correctly the Tecumseh ohv engines take a rn4yc4 or something like that.
I changed over to NGK a few years back after having a bad case of j19lm's. Would put in a new one and run it for ten minutes and it would quit and then would have to replace it. Sometimes would go though 3-4 plugs before one would run for more than ten minutes.
