In college in late 90's early 00's I owned a mowing business that did residential and commercial mowing. One of the mowers that I owned was a 1998 Z Rider Pro Cruiser with a 22 hp Kohler Command. I purchased it new and ran like a champ the duration of owning it and was sold with the business in 2002. I reallly missed that mower and decided a year ago to buy one just like it. I thad only 400 hrs and has been well taken care of not to mention is about like new. It runs just like my other one and idles rough and cold blooded but runs hard!!! This year I came across a cheap Z2205KV. Its a 1997 and the last of that style before the move to the one I have currently. It as well has a Kohler Command 22 hp but its a vertical shaft one instead horizontal. The motor on the Z2205KV run so smooth and not cold blooded? Why is this? Did Kohler Change something that I am unaware of??? Its like they have totally different cams and one idles smooth while the other rougher. I hope someone can help me with this??
