Greetings from Deep East Texas. I have started a project on an SR1230 that belongs to a very good friend of mine. He recently had an issue that resulted in the flywheel keyway getting ruined. This mower has a special meaning to him and he was very upset about it. He has meticulously maintained this mower over the years and it is in very good condition for its age. He has another Snapper that he is planning to use for mowing. I offered to help him sell the SR1230, which he agreed to, buy my motives were different. I want to restore the mower and surprise him with it once complete. The engine on this model is a 12.5 hp Briggs Model 283707-0136 01. I talked to Tim at Jacks and he informed me that this crank has been discontinued. One alternative option may be to just do an engine swap. Can anyone tell me a good replacement option that I can begin searching for ?
