I have a brand new Patriot with the Kohler engine and it smokes like freight a train on start up at times. I also have a Bobcat Predator pro at work with a Kawasaki Engine that does the same thing, neither use oil, just wondering why they do it?

Export threadIf the engine is over filled with oil this can happen. Blown head gasket, worn rings or a faulty crankcase breather all can cause it to smoke. Being new the latter is probably not the problem. Tilting the engine too much can put oil where it shouldn’t be also.
