Simplicity ZT 16-44 Hydro

Starts good but motor dies when it runs for 10 to 15 min. Will not start back up till cools 30 min. Kohler Command High Output 16 hp. engine.
Thoughts? Thx. Davh55

Ideas...

• Blocked fuel tank breather. Air can't can't enter, thus fuel can't leave.
• Ignition coil heat sensitive.
• Ignition control unit heat sensitive.
• Valve lash too tight.

- See if it starts up 15-30 seconds after loosening the gas cap.
- Check for spark by laying the spark plug on the cyl head
- Check valve clearances

Floating debris plugging the fuel outlet in the fuel tank.
Faulty carb solenoid

The best way to start is with a red inline spark tester
Hook it up & go mow
When the mower stops crank the engine and look at the tester
If it is flashing then the electrics are good & you have a fuel / valve problem .
When it starts again go mow but keep a can of carb cleaner with you.
The instant it stops squirt some cleaner down the carb & crank the engine.
Engine fires = fuel supply problem
