Simplicity Legacy No power steering

I have a Simplicity Legacy Model number 1692872. 25hp Kohler with 1500 hours. Still runs great.

In the middle of mowing my lawn the power steering stopped working. Forward and reverse works perfectly fine. Fluid level in the clear tube looks fine. (Changed fluid mid last season)

I am at a complete loss as to why I have no steering. Hoping someone on here can help me out so I am not stuck going to a dealer.

Make sure all front end steering parts & linkages are attached , tight, & not worn out. I would remove deck & place tractor on 4 jack stands with good lighting check for play with pry bar at all steering joints.

When I changed the fluid last season I did change the Filter.
