Scott 3in1 Axle bearing

I just purchased a used Scotts 3n1 mower mdl# 22965X8A. The drive axle bearings have failed. They appear to be only sold w/the entire wheel adjustment mechanism. Has anyone found a source for just the bearings? There are no identifiers on the outer bearing and I really don't want to drive the bearing out only to find I can't get a new one. Today it is still usable, albeit challenged.

I have learned this unit was made by Murray.

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

I always thought that we used to replace them individually also. Try going to jacks small engine .com. Type in your model number and see if you can find them. If I remember right they are a step bearing and you get them from an industrial supplier. I didn't know they still made that style of drive system any more. Good luck.

You should be able to buy a bearing from any bearing sales or auto parts store like NAPA. What you need is type of bearing/ID/OD/ Width. The bearing should have a number on it someplace and you can use this number also if you can find it? I buy lot of my bearings off E-Bay.

Thanks for the responses. I'll cal Jack's on Monday. The website only shows the complete assembly. If I can get my old Lawnboy (18yrs old) fired up , I'll drive the bearing out of the housing and hopefully find a suitable replacement. Just don't want to be without a trim mower at the moment. The air is full of Spring smells (and allergies), the lawn and pastures have been fertilized, grass is greening, horses are shedding their winter coats and I'm ready for some quiet time w/my landscape.

Thought I'd close this thread. After a bit of research, I found that Briggs & Stratton still manufacture all the components need for this machine. I found the 2) Bearing Retainer part# O71043MA @ eReplacementParts.com for $8.20 ea. They had the bearing but I had already found and purchased them from TSC, Hillman part# 838682 for $2.85 ea. So for less then $25.00, I got my front drive up and running. I say it's working as good as new but since I purchased the mower used, I haven't a clue what new was like.
