Engine Scag Turf Tiger Stt61A with Kawasaki FD671D engine

My Scag Turf Tiger STT61A has a Kawasaki FD671D 23HP. I'm having trouble getting it to run and wondering what the compression should be on each cylinder. Kawasaki quit making this engine and there is no direct fit made by what they say. I found bolt pattern charts and there the same with some of the new FD engines. Might be 25 hp, I have to get back home this weekend and get my paper work.
