I've seen a couple of YouTube videos where they snip the red positive feed to the fuel sylinoid. Is bypassing the back firing mechanism to the (18h kohler) unit. First of all, is this an okay thing to do. And if so do I need to remove the screw and take off the negative wire as well. And last, If it's okay to disable the solenoid? Can a feller remove the solenoid all together and replace it with a regular carburetor bowl screw ?

You have to remove the solenoid from the carb and snip the plunger off to make it work in bypass. You can leave the electric connected if you want. or replace with another carb bowl screw. What issue are you having with the solenoid. They get blamed for a lot of start run issues that they don't cause.
