Scag 36" walk behind comercial mower.

Hi! two things . How do you tell the model number if there is no plate or sticker on it with the info and my problem is when i try to switch the blades o nor put it in gear the motor stalls. Ran great then one day got the problem. Thanks hope someone can help

Then all we can do is guess at which one it of the 5 different series and the 75+ models.

As IL said sounds like both operator present switches on the handle bar has failed or there is a short the wiring. But this is only a guess.
