I have a craftsman 917.377240 7.0 hp OHV WALK BEHIND MOWER. The right front wheel will not disengage, and I cant free wheel the mower. Can anybody help me with this? I’m not very savy in this field.

Sounds like the drive pawl is jammed. Probably filled with dirt. Remove the wheel and you will find the drive gear. Remove the retainer clip and slide the parts off carefully, observing the order and direction they face. Clean and reassemble.

And don't go all crazy with any grease or lubes. If you have to use some silicone spray and a gentle wipe off. Lube will catch grit and sand destroying parts.

I removed The clip, but am having rough time removing the gear and the inners. Any suggestions? I let it sit overnight with some wd40 on it.

Might take a little hammer persuading.

WD-40 is not a good penetrating lube. Get some PB Blaster next time.

All of the retaining items removed? If so a little propane torch might loosen her up. Try some compressed air too.

Heat the part and quench with PB Blaster. That might assist the PB getting into the part to loosen it up.
