I installed a new motor on a 13.5hp rear engine craftsman riding mower. When I attached the throttle cable the coating on the cable does not reach the clamp, so when I tighten the screw on the clamp it binds the cable, if I loosen the clamp the whole cable pulls out. Can anyone give some details on how to adjust the cable

Adjust the throttle all the way open so the plastic slides down far enough to get it in the clamp. I beleive there should be a spot where you line up the throttle plate with a hole in the back plate for the correct adjudtment.. maybe someone will have more info on that part.
