Scag Tiger cat 11, Have replaced battery twice in two weeks. Not sure what is draining them. Today cut it off while mowing and it did not have enough juice to start. Had to boost it off. After this the PTO would not engage the blades. Not sure if it might be related. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The alternator is not working
To check disconnect the alternator at the plug, charge the battery and go mow.
If it runs for the same time ( or longer ) then the charging system is bad.
Rectifers can go short to ground anddiode can go open circuit so the stator tries to become an electric motor draining the battery .

Thank you will give a try. Could this effect the pto switch also?
