I am trying to get a spare propane tank. I have found one but it has the fitting with the threads opposite of mine. Mine is 43 lb horizontal on a Toro 6000. What tank designations to I need to watch for?

Consider buying a thread gauge. See if you can identify your TPI (threads per inch) or metric . Measure the hole dia and you can sleuth around . Of course the easy way is for someone to respond who knows the answer, but this has not happened yet.

When you mention " opposite " are you saying one is right hand and the other is left hand. At one time left hand threads were common on tanks we called bottles as would be on camper trailers and early mobile homes etc.

Thank you both for the replies! Mine is a "left Handed" thread. I wised up and took it to a propane company and they special ordered an identical one for me. Not the cheaper used version I was hoping for but now I am covered.
