Hi,
This my first time posting. I have a real old MTD 38" riding tractor that I use for sucking up
leaves. Right in the middle of the job it died with gas leaking out of the carb. The whole plastic
piece where the air cleaner fits was full of gas. I took off the carb and blow out the needle and seat
and reassembled it. Started up, same thing gas flooding out. This is Tecumseh OHV130 engine and
it was built in 1991!. I ordered two kinds of carbs off Amazon because they were so cheap ($11) I figured
one might work. My question is there anything else that could be wrong in engine to cause the gas flooding
out? I think it could be the end of this machine but it was running still strong and I keep nursing along.
Thanks for listening and I really enjoy all the stories on this site.

sure sounds like the needle and/or float.... one of those carbs should fix your problem.
Check your engine oil to be sure it isn't diluted with gasoline.

Thank you very much! Yes I think the oil was diluted since it smoked badly
when a started it the second time. I will change the oil before putting the new
carb on. Thanks again for the quick reply!
