Moving into my first home and relatives have offered to buy me a lawnmower with a $2,500 budget. This lawnmower will only mow grass, no towing or anything like that. My yard is a little over an acre, with a flat front yard and grades down to the bottom of the backyard at possibly a 20% slope and in some places maybe more. Is this budget enough for what I need or should I just pay someone to mow my yard?

Anything under $ 5000 is build down to a price.
Most are just as bad as each other , so pick one in a colour that your wife likes .
You will get a lot of Ford Vs Chev brand loyal replies .
If it was me I would get the yard mowed by a couple of different contractors and look at what they use.
Moving into a new house you will have more than enough to do in the first season.
Once you have planned your yard, seen what it is like over a full year then look at getting a quality mower that will suit your yard and lifestyle.
Decide is you have the time available to mulch or will need to bag because the grass gets too long
