Hi, I have restored a few older Lawn-Boys in the last few years and enjoy the brand. I just brought home the oldest Lawn-Boy I have seen. It has a cast aluminum deck and an Iron horse engine. The emblem on the rear says rpm model 8FH12LB Lamar, Missouri. I think it to be early 50'S , anywhere to find any real info that anybody knows? appreciate any help, Scott

As far as I know 8fh12lb is a 1952, a 8fh13lb is a 1953 and 8fh14lb is a 1954 with 1955 being the first year of the bricktop. Unclelee has more expertise in the 8fh12lbs. He is restoring a very nice one.

Lawn boy's web site service manual shows 8FH13 as a 1954 model. A 8FH12 is a 1953.

To be alittle more clear the odd numbered machines are transitional models from one year to the next so an 8FH13lb would have been produced late 53-early 54 as I understand it.
