Murray mower pulleys turn when trying to loosen blade nut!!

Help!!! My blades need to be changed, but I can't get the nut holding the blade to turn! The pulley keeps turning when I try to loosen the nut. Have a blade buster so the blade is stable. When I try to hold the pulley nut and loosen the blade nut, the pulley nut comes loose. I could take the whole assembly apart, but never have before. Any ideas?

You will either have to find a way to keep the shaft from turning, or the easiest may be to use an impact gun.

I just finished working on the same problem, I used a small pipe wrench on the large shaft below the upper pulley. Then loosened or tightened the blade nut.
