MTD rider mower from 1998, 13 HP engine. Battery voltage is around 13.0 or so. I turn the key ON and no start. I check V at both terminals on the solenoid, and strangely, both teminals show 13V, even without the key being turned in the ON position. But the V at the starter is zero. Am I missing something? Shouldnt the starter side terminal of the solenoid be zero unless one turns the key on? Why both terminals show zero, but that same heavy red wire from the solenoid to the battery shows zero a the starter?
I have a 3 post solenoid.
