Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone came across the problem with the brake. My mower tractor red up/down brake does not work. I had a look and the spring is detached. When the break is on you are supposed to be able to dismount the tractor without the engine shutting off. Has anyone had this problem and how easy is it to fix? What is the mechanism that connects it to the engine shut off as it is not electronic and the spring attaches to a lever. Are there break pads?

It helps let us know this is a Husqvarna. Not everyone is going to take the time to search the net playing "Where's Waldo"

Reattach the spring so the mechanism can lock the pedal when it is depressed. The safety switches are what is shutting you down when you get off the seat without the brake lock set.

Yes, there is a mini brake disc and pads on the rear differential, but only an experienced mower tech will know what they are looking at. These brakes do not normally wear out for many years.

Is your brake not working or holding?

Yes the parking brake setting first be working correctly by latching up. And then if this working and the mower is still shutting down then the brake safety switch is probably giving problems or not being fully depress.

Transaxle is a Hydro Gear T2-ADBF-2X3C-1RX (Husqvarna 531147917)

If brake not holding it is a simple adjustment of item 132 as pads do wear to where they hold. It is a castle nut so the cotter has to be removed first and replaced afterwards.
