Mower doesn't seem to have enough power

I have a Black & Decker electric mower I bought new about 7 or 8 years ago. It's always run fine, but I cranked it up for the first mow of the season and it sounds really weak (a guy passing by said he couldn't even hear it) and the blades are not spinning as fast as they should. I had charged the battery full just a few days ago. Is there something wrong with the mower itself, or is it just time for a new battery?

If those are the original batteries, 7-8 years and, I would say you’ve got more than the life from them and time to replace. I think you are going to find that the cost of replacing just the batteries won’t be economically wise, so you should probably look into replacing the unit.
