HELP. The hydrostatic stopped while mowing my yard. It appears the plug or bolt had worked it’s way out of the transmission and the fluid drained out. Can anyone help with Identifying either the plug or bolt? No luck with the local mower shop and I can’t find anything on the parts diagrams listed on the internet. Model# HRC 216 HXA MAKA 1076310.

call a honda mower dealer. FInding pictorial online for specific models tends to be a crap shoot, and honda dealers seem to be the only people who have access to all the diagrams

this is a HR216 K3 HXA which may be similar parts 37 and 39 but there is no guarantee it it the correct one. says it is 8mm. Your photo looks larger than that, I dunno. https://www.partstree.com/models/hr...sn-maka-1050001-maka-1999999/transmission-26/

It appears to have fine threads. The hole is less than 1/4 inch deep. I’ve ordered 1 plug and 1 bolt from a Honda mower dealer and both have bring wrong. They are recommending I order a new case and gasket for $130ish and replace. I thought it would be an easy part to buy. I found a video of the hydrostatic fluid being changed, but t can’t find the screw/plug that was removed.

How big is your yard? have you attempted to find the plug? i would assume it's a metal plug and magnet might pick it up...

17" mini magnetic sweeper at Harbor Freight $12.99. walk around until you find an oily spot and then roll it around there. Photo looks like a steel plug

I have looked at multiple IPLs and none shows the plug listed in that area. Probably will need to have threading checks by someone with a metric tap and die set to match up the screw needed. I do find it strange that the part is not listed on the IPL.

Since I am not familiar with the Honda walk behinds it does make it a lot harder to give advice. But if you can find another HXA with the drive still in it might also help to identify the missing part.
