i just picked up a like new lt 1045 with a kohler courage 20 hp.the machine has 80 hrs on it and the owner thought they blew the engine.when i got it home,i pulled to shrouding off and found several bolts had backed out on top cover of engine.one got into the flywheel and broke off and cracked the block.i tightened the rest and got it running seems ok no noise etc.i j b welded block and it seems to hold.im going to use for a while then sell it.has any one else experienced this?

I have seen other Kohlers do that, and flywheel magnetics do about the same damage. I love JB weld!, I have used it in some serious situations...if you prep the area right it will hold forever. Sounds like you got it figured out. Just got to say, if you sell it, do the right thing....tell them about the repair.:thumbsup:
