I believe i posted this in the wrong area. I have an LT 1000 42" deck. at first it threw the belt at the transmission pully, that was fun digging out. I tightened up the guides in the back and now it started throwing the belt at the engine pully so i tightened that guide as well with no results. The mower drives and pulls good the belt doesn't seem to be slipping it just comes off periodically. The belt seems to loose to me but it is the craftsman belt for that model lawn mower. Thanks in advance for any help, suggestions.

Very carefully check the condition of your belt. If you've got any spots that are thinner than all the rest of the belt, it's time for a belt replacement. Also, check your pulley condition very carefully. They should be straight, and without any pinching or spreading. Lastly, make sure that any spring loaded tensioning idlers are working smoothly on their pivots. Hope this helps.

It could be stretched a bit too.

I did find a loose pulley, tightened it up and cut a while without problem. The belt still seems extremely loose to me, but maybe its supposed to be loose?

the belt should be tight when the clutch pulley engages

Is the diagram for the mower deck or the transmission drive?
