I have gas leaking out the carburetor/air filter and can't determine what is causing the leak. Any suggestions?:confused2:

Faulty carburetor needle and/or float.

I too, experienced this same issue with my 1980 Utility just this weekend. I wonder if the hard bouncing when cutting on our bone dry ground had anything to do with hammering a float and seat? Did not have problems before.:confused3:

Not very likely.
The fuel in bowl would behave like a kind of shock absorber.
Floats and needles usually fail due to trash or some kind of contamination.

Sounds like a carb tear-down is in my future. I'm wondering if I have a brass float in my plastic carb?
Maybe a Viton tipped float needle?
Who knows, it has been a while since I had this one apart.
Thanks,
Rocky
