bought a green toro model 10685 lawnboy insight with sens a speed for 20.00 bucks.trans was shot as in the spur and bevel gears were worn.83.00 later for a new assembly from partstree and a 25.00 snap ring pliers from sears and three hours labor and it works great. One thing that is not in the repair manual is how to remove the pulley nut when the trans. gears are stripped to nothing.had to split the trans on the axle to remove it and then grab the bevel gear with a vise grips to get the nut off to remove the pulley.I see why they did not want to do it themselves. After doing it the first time I would do it again only a little faster.

There is no way to remove the pulley nut if the teeth on the drive gear are stripped, other than opening the tranny. Why would you want to remove that nut any over time?
