Lawn Boy 5236 Question

Hi guyz,
I have a lawn boy mower (5236, 2 stroke) that is giving me problems. After mowing for about 30 minutes, it becomes hot and then stalls at the slightest excuse. All attempts to start it (it uses a starter rope) fail and I have to open the cover, remove the flywheel and the plate beneath it. When I put these items back (without doing anything to them) the mower starts up without any trouble. I have no idea what is triggering this behaviour as I cannot pinpoint the problem try as I can.
The seals and piston rings are brand new as I just replaced them recently.
Any help is much appreciated.

Time to replace the coil, when you open it up it lets the built up heat out and allows it to cool enough to fire back up. Once it gets best soaked again it will die.

Is there a way to prevent it from getting hot in the first place (or a workaround)? I spoke to a mech and he said it would cost me an arm and a leg to buy a new coil and I don't have cash at the moment

Before buying a new coil be sure that's the problem. When it's hot and won't run, test for spark. If there is spark, the coil is probably OK.

I tested this morning and there is actually a spark. Even after removing and returning the flywheel, the mower refused to fire up. It sputters for a second when I pull the starter rope and then dies. I did these several times but it completely refused to pick up. I even tried pouring a tea spoonful of gasoline on the spark plug hole and then tried starting it but it wouldn't go past the sputtering.
I am really confused what has gotten to it.
