Help! Limited mechanical knowledge & tools.
Mower wouldn't start. Mom insisted on new battery before I could check. New battery was a no go. Investigated & got to 20amp fuse. In pieces. Corroded in socket. Sprayed w/cleaner. Its destroyed. Contact points inside gone. Do I need to replaced whole wiring harness or can socket only be replaced? Researched to no avail. Really need your input.

Buy an in line 20A fuse holder
Cut the wires to & from the mowers fuse and fit the new one .
You can get the individual crimp on terminals but they come in commercial packs ( well down here they do ) so you end up with 48 spares
Then you have to make ( or buy ) a tool to pull the terminal out of the fuse holder.
Worthwhile for techs but not for the home owners
Get a waterproof fuse holder with the wires attached then solder the new fuse holder into position & hold it out of the way with a cable tie
Also get some heat shrink tube and cover the soldered joint with 3 layers of tube shrunk on individually .
If you end up with a couple of strands of wire poking out file them off before you do the heat shrink.

What ever you do, do not fit the cheap indoor insulated terminals with the red or blue plastic covers or you will be doing the job again in a couple of seasons
