I have a XT675 engine and it will not shut off. I was looking at the kill switch and it apears it grounds out the coil through the brake pad. I can not see the entire assembly well with our removing it, so I may be wrong. Can some one confirm this. If so can I just replace a worn brake pad? It appears from my limitted research you need to replace the entire assembly. Thanks in advance to anyone adding some clarity to this issue for me.

Kohler doesn't just the brake pad but the whole assembly and there are at least two different ones. Would the spec number of the engine for the correct PN. One of the brake assemblies (PN 14 219 21-S) is only $17 list.

That why I need the engine's spec number to give the correct PN.

Is it true it grounds out through the brake pad?
