Kohler ignition conversion nightmare

I have a Kohler model CV 740S Spec # CV-740-0026 Serial # 3504506871 D.O.M. 2-14-05 original ign.module # KH-24-584-36-S two wire with smart spark adv module.I have installed the MDI #kit 25707-03-S for conversion.The mower starts up and idles ok but as the rpm's go up it goes from bad to worse.Can someone please tell me if this is the wrong conversion kit it acts like the timing isnt advancing with the idle.249 hrs with regular yearly maintence

Looks like that is the correct conversion kit. Didn't install the modules upside down possibly. Should be installed with flat side facing toward you.

Thanks for the reply,kill wire spade is up.I did notice that Partstree's diagram looking this up using the cub cadet tractor model number only shows 1 flywheel with the 2 wire module with the external spark advancemodule KH-24-584-36-S as N/A.Cub # 14AK13CK709.If I look this up using the Kohler model,I get a choice of 3 flywheels and a 2 or 3 wire ignition module.I have performed 3 or 4 of these conversions successfully over the last few years,could this one require me to change the flywheel.My flywheel looks like #24-025-58-S using kohler model to look up,but cub model shows 24-025-15-s.I do realize not to take the cartoon drawing on these part sites to heart.

Kohler parts lookup by serial number shows the 24 584 31-S DSAM 24 025 58-S flywheel, and the 24 584 36-S ignition module before MDI conversion I got those same 3 part numbers when I looked it up on the CC site.

I put the 24 025 15-S into the parts lookup and it supercedes to 24 025 58-S

I dug through the mower pile and found a very similar used module,mower has not run this smooth for a long time.Just because it is new doesnt mean it is good.One of the modules in the kit is intermittent spark.
