Brother-in-law owns a nice JD Sabre Model 14.5/38. I looked at his yard and it was obvious the deck wasn't level by the awkward cut the mower had left.
I looked at the mower in his cramped basement expecting to see a flat tire or a mower needing a minor deck adjustment, but that was not the case. This mower has the deck height control under the seat and between your legs. When that control is moved, the entire right side of the deck refuses to raise off the anti-scalp wheels.
Looking in from beside the right rear tire, I can see lots of (scissor-like) linkage parts moving when the height control is moved and seemingly doing a great job on both sides. The only difference is that the left side of the deck raises, while the right side doesn't do a thing.
Any suggestions or diagrams to help with the diagnosis highly appreciated.
