New to his so I don't know if I am doing it right but here goes. Have a Cub Cadet that keeps burning out solenoid. Some after market ones the post are not always fitting right and you might have to add wire or move the solenoid. But it sounds like the small red wire goes with the big red not the black. Green wire is ground but some solenoid are grounded to the frame you are mounting it on.
