Have an old Yard Man LT14-42 Model is 131684G

I am not very handy but trying this is a mower for my son. Looking for a little advice on what the issues could be.

The blades engage and then stop. Just replaced the PTO switch. They don't engage every time you flip the PTO, but more often then not they do....spin for a few seconds and then stop. Here is a short video. Any thoughts on what I should check/test next? Thanks!!

It's electrical. I was loosening and tightening the 3 springs on the PTO Clutch. Is that what you think may need adjusting?

Can you hear the PTO klunking as the blades start & stop ?
If so you are having power supply problems.
Also check the belt, if there are burn spots on it, these will tend to slip whenever they are on the engine pulley.
And of course remove the belt then rotate each blade by hand feeling for a smooth and free operation
Get under the deck and have a good look for shiny lines on the sides of the deck where the blades have been touching.
