I am trying to install craftsman plow 486.24443 to my craftsman yt4000 model 917.28857. The plow manual does not show an option for my mower suspension. I have been able to hook it up but concerned that it is not going to be strong enough. I have a plate that would allow me to bolt into a top suspension but there is no top plate or bracket to connect it to. So right now it is only bolted in on the sides using the side brackets. Maybe that is correct but seems odd. Does anyone have any instructions to install this blade to similar mowers?

If you can post some pictures of the plow and tractor maybe some guys can give you some ideas. ?? If you have good fabrication skills I'm sure something can be made to adapt..

Here are the pics I feel like I need a bracket across and seems too close to muffler. Have one bolt in the slot groove on each side currently.

Thanks. I believe it is the muffler? While I like having the brackets further back from a support standpoint it seems like it is too close to muffler and needs to be pulled forward. Would you put a support brace across the front or just reinforce the side brackets with additional bolts ?

I'm thinking I'd go with a support in front too. Might not be to hard to do if you're going to pull it front some more away from the muffler..

Then just put a couple bolt in any of the brackets holes available. I assume they make it that way to be more universal. This is new to me. Is there a particular type of bolt I should use and where do you feel the correct strength steel for the brace?

Does that little fella' have the juice to push a plow? Might be burning up some drive belts and pulleys.

I wouldn't be too afraid of breaking bolts. As long as you're using 2 or more 3/8" bolts per side. Maybe even 1/2" . " If making some kind of support in front should be plenty". You tractor is only so big so you may find a weak link somewhere else..
