I tryed to do a little John Deere history looking for a SX 1250. The best I could come up on was a 1250 John Deere 2WD small utility tractor made in 1982 till 1989 diesel made in Japan by Yanmar which sold for over 18.000 dollars. I couldn't find anything close to it in John Deere garden tractors. Nothing about your tractor looks John Deere. Someone on this forum should be able to give you a better idea as to brand? It looks to me like a old craftsman or Murray?

I said utility form the looks of it but yes it as listed as a farm tractor. Me not knowing the tractor at all, there much be a reason you said junk?? You must of had personal experience to say that. I have found that Japan as a rule has a little better quality. It sure wasn't cheap to buy at 18,000 dollars. I just came up with the 1250 number from the picture in this thread but couldn't find SX. Is there such a thing as a SX1250 John Deere? because I could find anything??? Could it be some kind of JD accessory or equipment? It looks like a JD decal off something? As I said before the tractor just doesn't look John Deere to me but a John Deere Want-to-be.
