Hi y’all I have a hustler super z 72 inch cut with a Kawasaki fx1000v 36hpmotor .
I’m suspecting I have a burnt valve in it, due to the mower being extensively running with a leaky exhaust. When I did a compression test # 1 cylinder reads 148 psi and #2 cylinder reads 150 that reading was done while engine was cold. They are both within the same range of each other but once I looked it up the compression is only suppose to read 85-120 which is standard for most small engine. I have tried to find what a maximum reading would be for this motor but have not located it yet. So my question is this….. is that too much compression if not what is acceptable for that engine??

Adjust your valves to spec and retest. Sounds like the ACV is not working but may just the valves are that far out of adjustment.

If you are building up a lot of carbon in combustion chamber that will increase the readings.
