HRR2167VKA repair worth it?

So my HRR2167VKA has a bent crankshaft and the engine mounts on the deck are cracked. I can get my hands on a used GCV160 for $50 and a new deck for $70. Would it be worth the time and effort to swap the remaining parts (wheels, transmission, handle) to the used engine and new deck or should I just get a new mower?

Thanks!

Welcome!

The answer to your question really depends upon: 1) how you value your time, 2) how good your wrenching skills are, and 3) what kind of condition the remaining parts are in. I try to practice care for the environment by reusing things whenever possible vs. buying new and having stuff go to the landfill, so I would lean toward repairing it (I enjoy tinkering with mowers as well).

However, I have learned the hard way a few times when repairing a piece of equipment, after spending far too much time and money, that I should have just embalmed it and sent it up to the great backyard in the sky!

Ended up buying an HRT216KTDA for $100. I may resurrect the HRR if/when I get time.
