Hello, my name is Dave. I live north of Detroit. I am new to the forum.

I am a happy owner of an approximately 12 year old Honda Harmony mower with Hydro static variable speed transmission.

As the mower has aged, it has become very difficult to maneuver when it's cold. It is very hard to pull backwards and now the wheels almost skid when pulling back.

As the mower / engine / trans warms up, the issue becomes less problematic.

What can I do/adjust to fix this? Also, the trans mower speed are slower when I first start it. As she warms, she can move normally.

Thanks in advance for the advise/help.

There is an extensive troubleshooting section for the hydrostatic transmission in the factory shop manual. It mentions inspection of the control arm, the control arm spring, binding of the control arm, a ground speed test, etc. Honda only sells paper copies, available from eBay or Amazon. You'll need the full serial number off the back of the mower deck to ensure you get the correct document.
