Engine Honda 2417 Lawn Tractor - Cuts out when warm but restarts straight away.

Hello

I have reviewed threads similar but not with quite the same problem as I have, so hopefully someone can try and help.

I always get my Honda tractor serviced at a Honda dealer, however in the last few years they have never really fixed my problems other than to do a basic service. The last few years, the tractor has suffered from periodic surging in the engine, both with the blades on and off and at various revs. Lately this problem seems to have gone. However.... it is now replaced with a new random issue.

The tractor starts no problem from cold or hot. It will mow for between 5 minutes and maybe up to 30 minutes and then it just cuts out mid mow. It will then restart straight way, but only run for say, 10 seconds and then it will cut out again. It will restart and run for 10 seconds and so on.... sometimes it will misfire on a hot start. If I leave it for a few hours I may get between 5 and 30 min before it starts cutting out again. While the tractor is running the battery light also occasionally flashes on and off.

I have tried new plugs, filters are all clean, fuel is clean.

I have kind of lost faith in my Honda dealer as they never seem to know what to do, any ideas?

This is what happens when the fuel tank has debris in it that gets sucked into the outlet hole, like hair down the shower plug hole.

Simpleist way to verify this is to pinch another fuel ( off the push mower or small motorcycle ) and see if you can run that tank dry.
