Hi everyone !!!

I just picked up this little classic for free the other day...

As most of you know, it is a 28086S. Needs a little work, but as you can see my the clippings, I got it fired up and made a run with it. The serial # is 83065343. I'm having troubles decoding it for year, but I assume the first 2 numbers are 83, so I'm thinking it is a 1983 model.

I have a lot of room to refurb this little cutie since the price was so good...lol
If anyone has anything lying around for one of these, I'd love to try and work something out with you.

Great to be aboard, and hope to enjoy it here as much as I do in my car and vintage gaming forums !!!

Nice! Maybe you could have haggled him down to a lower price, though.:laughing:

A bargain at twice the price!

I have to admit that I have always wanted one of these to tinker with. Don't need one, just want one.

Been a while....

I didn't need the new stator/alternator. I managed to fine the correct wire with connector to the harness and had it soldered to the alternator, works great !!! well, kinda.

Anyone that would happen to know the torque spec for the flywheel bolt would be very helpful. I spun the key out not too long after I ran it, so I have a new one coming in tomorrow. It's the 8HP Briggs engine, and the numbers on the engine cover tell me it's an '88.

Any and all help is greatly and truly appreciated. I really miss the old guy, and would love to make the last pass of the year with it !!!
