HELP ! I need to buy a carb jet from someone. Duraforce Engine

I desperately need to buy the idle jet for the Duraforce carb. I can pay with paypal, mail you a check, cash, whatever.......

Long story short: My cousin asked me to work on his mower due to a minor lean-surge issue. I replaced all the engine seals and then started to do a good carb cleaning. I damaged the idle jet beyond repair. So I went to order a new one and you can't buy JUST the idle jet. You can get nearly every other part of the carb EXCEPT what I need. A new carb is crazy expensive and there is nothing wrong with his (other than my screw-up). He is 70 and LOVES this mower, so I've got to get it going for him. If I have to I'll foot the bill for a new carb myself (since I screwed it up).

Can anyone help me out ???? Thanks !

If I were you I would go to your local Toro dealer or local repair shop and ask if they have any of the plastic body carbs laying around. Take your carb along to show them what you need. That jet is the same for all the plastic body carbs. I'll bet they do and you can pick up the idle jet pretty cheap.

If you look at the parts diagram you will see that the pilot jet and main jet can be purchased separately.

I had to drive 80 miles round trip to get it but.......SUCCESS! Former Lawn-boy dealer had a couple old parts mowers and gave me the jet I needed. What a relief. I hope nothing else ever breaks on his mower, as the cost of parts for these things is ridiculous. My neighbor brought over an F type Lawn boy that he ran on straight gas. New rod and piston is $168. NO WAY that's gonna happen.

I'm sure you can do much better than $168 for those F-series parts. You can get a non-oem piston set (but no rod) for $15.27 at K&T parts. Try eBay for things that are harder to find. If you take an engine that far apart it's a good idea to replace the crankshaft seals (not expensive or hard to find.)

There are only two jets in that carburetor, one is the pilot jet and the other is the main jet. The pilot jet part #98-7041 is sold at PartsTree for $7.62 which is probably the one he needs, the other is the main jet part #98-1357 also sold at PartsTree for $7.12. Those are not uncommon parts and are available at numerous parts stores. check eReplacement parts, they might have better prices.

If you want to believe there are only two jets, fine with me. If you look at a parts breakdown of the carb for this engine, next to number 6, you will see a part which is not labeled. That is the idle jet. If I am wrong, then I have been cleaning a jet by another name for the last 10 years.
