This past Saturday my youngest son & I performed a major service on our 2010 Simplicity Broadmoor 20 H.P. Vanguard engine, tractor, & 46" deck. The tractor has 430hrs. on hour meter. We started off by removing hood & deck for access & maintenance purposes. My son cleaned sector & pinion gears of last years grease & installed new grease. Just wanted to share pictures of original gears.
Not so Rivets, you were an Instructor for many years but have been a valuable mechanic/technician asset on this website for many years. Having book knowledge & mechanical/technical knowledge does not come easy, one has to work hard to attain this goal. You should receive an AWARD from Administrators for all the HELP, Wisdom & Knowledge you have helped folks with over the years. Thanks Rivets, I agree to disagree at times, man to man.

Personally I would not recommend greasing these gears. It will accumulate debris and lead to premature ware.
