I have a 725 grasshopper mower and I was driving it one day and it was working great.
The next it started surging and then eventually would die.
Replaced all of the spark plugs, wires, and coil wires.
Cleaned the jets out and then resealed the carburetor.
I took the rubber off the shutoff solenoid so that was not persay causing any issues.
Installed a new fuel filter.
The pump has about 4 psi of pressure.
After doing all of this it runs good but it will start to surge.
It backfires sometimes.
Then it dies.
