grass shute worn on mtd rear delivery

IMG_20220219_121105.jpgi have a mtd with a rear delivery to grass bag collection the bottom piece is worn through with the belt con i fix it is very expensive to replace the deck itself is good the piece that the shute goes into i can cut out and weld new metal back in as i said the rest of the deck is perfect hope i can download pics thanks francyIMG_20220219_121105.jpgIMG_20220219_121105.jpg

Sorry, but I must need more coffee this morning as the pic you posted make no sense to me. Please post a couple of pictures from different angles if you can.

From what I am seeing the deck is not in perfect condition but has rust out too. Just either replace the chute or repair it as it is badly worn.

Even with those pictures I can’t make out what you are talking about. I agree that deck needs work and if a belt cut through the chute, you should be looking at other problems.

I suspect that the chute blew out around the edge just above where it connect to the deck due to abrasion and rust and then due to lack of side support cracked across the top. And the belt had nothing to do with it.

IL, you are probably correct. I just very confused as to what is exactly wrong, because his English and pictures are very hard to decipher. Wish he would post something a bit clearer and a better explanation. Also unit model and serial numbers would be helpful.

that answer sounds about right to me so once I get it all prepped and painted I will send some pics will not be for a while but i will thanks francy

I live 2000-3000 thousand miles away and my wife is of Scottish decent, but that doesn’t give me any idea of who you are. Sorry if you were insulted, but your description and use of the English grammar gave me no clue who or where you are from.
