I took apart my carb to clean it today and I removed the governor spring and the whole spring came out of the governor unit. I can not figure this out. I'm trying to get this put back together again, it's bothering me. Please help me out.
Thanks,
Paul

Good morning,

Looks like you need a new spring to start with. Your model number will help us help you. Lawnboy has service manuals for download on their site.

Good luck,

Jim

Thanks for the reply :)
I'm stupid for not telling you guys the model number, it's a Duraforce 10247. I can't figure out this governor system for the life of me. It's so simple, but so over complicated at the same time. I've tried looking at manuals online but they seem to only show information about the older bricktop models. At least I think there called that, I'm new to lawnboys if you can't tell :) Also I think my engine is an f series engine, while older models have d and e series engines. Correct me if I'm wrong. Please help me out :)
Thanks,
Paul

Hi pdowty,

Did you check out lawnboy.com? Several different manuals. I feel your pain on the gov set up. Took me several nights after work to figure it out.

Jim

I've tried lawnboy's support site and when I enter my model 10247, it comes up with no results. And on lawnboy's main site it asks me for a password. Maybe it's just because I'm trying to go on the website on my phone.

Your spring is not broken. I'll see if I can find you a good picture of how to reassemble the parts tonight when I get home from work. Not that hard to do.

Thanks you! The only reason I took my carb apart was to clean it. I couldn't figure out how to connect the governor spring to the linkage on the carb. That's when I pulled too hard and the spring came out. It's really pissing me off... Thanks for the help :)

Hi guys,

I'll admit I am not a lawnboy expert by any means, my 10201 is my first one. But that spring looks stretched all to heck. Just trying to learn about these mowers from the pros. Seems everyone has seen one, but few really know'em.

Thanks to all for the knowledge,

Jim
