Gas in the crank case

I have a 3-year-old 42" Pro series with a 22 hp. Kohler engine. It has a 5 yr. warranty. I have fuel in the crankcase. The tech says that's perfectly okay. Really? Sorry, but I've been screwing around with these types of engines since the mid '60's. I'm certified up to 9,600 Hp as per the USCG. This is not okay. My thought is that this lazy <deleted> doesn't want to deal with it until the engine blows up when it's out of warranty. He gave me a BS song and dance. In my experience, I think I'd first look at the fuel pump then the valve seals. Any other opinions?

Wow!!!! That is NOT okay.
The needle is faulty in the carburetor... Or the float is stuck down and not shutting fuel off into the carb... Replace the carb or buy a new needle, drain all oil, and install new oil filter.

as mentioned, the cause is a leaky float needle not sealing so engine floods letting gas leak into crankcase

You might want to put a fuel shut off in the fuel line after you fix the carb.
